For Students

Learn While You Work
Real Skills. Real Experience. Real Careers.
At SWC Training, we believe the best place to learn is in the workplace.
Our nationally recognised qualifications are delivered exclusively through a workplace-based training model, allowing students to gain formal qualifications while developing practical skills and experience in their day-to-day roles. This approach ensures learning is relevant, immediately applicable and aligned to real industry practice.
Whether you’re starting your career, changing industries or looking to take the next step professionally, our flexible training programs are designed to support your success.
Why Choose SWC Training?
Is Workplace Based Training Right for You?
SWC Training specialises exclusively in workplace-based training. This means our qualifications are designed to be completed while you are employed in a role that is directly related to the qualification you are undertaking.
Because learning and assessment occur in real workplace environments, students must have access to relevant duties, equipment, systems and workplace experiences to successfully complete their qualification.
If you are not currently working in an appropriate role, we encourage you to contact us to discuss potential pathways, including traineeships, school-based programs and opportunities with partner employers.
Can I enrol?
You may be eligible to enrol if you:
- Are currently employed in a role related to the qualification you wish to undertake.
- Are about to commence employment in a relevant role.
- Are participating in an approved traineeship or school-based pathway.
As training and assessment take place in real workplace environments, learners need access to the tasks, equipment and experiences relevant to their qualification.
If you’re unsure whether you’re eligible, our team can discuss your circumstances and help identify the most suitable pathway.
Do I need an Employer?
Yes. Because our programs are workplace-based, learners need to be employed in an organisation where they can develop and demonstrate the skills required for their qualification.
Your employer will also appoint an experienced workplace supervisor or mentor to support your learning journey and work alongside your SWC Trainer and Assessor.
If you are not currently employed, please contact us to discuss potential pathways and opportunities..
Is Training Funded?
Funding may be available depending on:
- The qualification you choose
- The state or territory you live and work in
- Your age and employment status
- Whether you are completing a traineeship or apprenticeship
- Your previous qualifications
Our team will discuss available funding options and complete an eligibility assessment before enrolment so you understand any fees and available subsidies.
