Our History

Our story
SWC Training was founded in 1997 by Graeme Phillips with a clear vision: to bring quality training directly to healthcare workers in their own workplace, where learning becomes immediately practical and relevant. What began as a commitment to support people to grow without leaving their roles has evolved into a trusted training partner for hospital and health care employers across Australia.
For more than 25 years, the Phillips family upheld this vision. When sons Matt and James Phillips took over the business, they continued their father’s legacy of responsiveness, quality, and genuine care for both learners and the organisations they support. In 2025, SWC Training joined the IVET Group, combining SWC’s personalised approach with the scale, systems and reach to support even more healthcare workers nationwide.
Today, with more than 45,000 people trained, SWC Training (RTO 4567) remains grounded in the same purpose that inspired its beginnings: building capability where it matters most – on the job, at your pace, and with real impact.
